Description

The fragrance opens with citrus and a green effect thanks to mint and bucchu, a plant with a scent reminiscent of cassis. The heart reveals orange blossom, galbanum resin and lentisk (pistachio-nut tree). The trail unveils a blend of frankincense, patchouli and serenolide (white musk). Perfumer: Daniela Andrier, Givaudan.

At a glance

A dazzling eau, drenched in freshness

History

A year after the launch of untitled, Maison Martin Margiela presents a less balsamic, more citrusy version of their first fragrance: untitled L’Eau. Having gone unisex, the fragrance turns out to be ‘airier, more luminous… and more arousing,’ too, Daniela Andrier, the perfumer, promises. She confides having simply poured a bit of concentrate of green and citrus into the existing juice.

Range

3.4-oz. spray bottle

Bottle

You’ll recognize the untitled bottle, in a more slender style. The white label seems to have been painted on with the stroke of a brush.

This is a citrusy fragrance, but at the same time very green. For me, it’s the same green effect than the one in Vent Vert from Balmain. There is a vegetable facet, a bit rough, almost disturbing. The scent is not a cologne that I would categorize as comfortable. It’s a fresh eau, but not easy to wear. I would advise it for people who like green scents.
